I have read on a few of the blogs about the
lap band doctors taking out gall bladders as a source of extra income???? Am i misunderstanding or is this true??? I had mine out in august as preparation for my band. What is your opinion and has anyone done any research on this???
Oh very interesting - I can't wait to see what people post!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that, but I do know gall bladders can be an issue for people who've lost weight so maybe they do it as a preventative measure. My surgeon discovered a hiatal hernia that he corrected, but he didn't charge me any extra for it.
ReplyDeleteDuring my testing for the lapband my doctor said i had gall stones most likely cause i had lost 100 lbs in less than a year doing the atkins, he said if the gall stones were to get infected they were to close to where the band sits on the stomach so to avoid the band getting infected and having to be removed, it had to come out.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of that before.
ReplyDeleteI know I ended up with sludge in my liver after my surgery - it was from the 'crash diet' 14 day liquid diet I had to do.
