Overnight so they can monitor your recovery from the drugs....then back to work on day 5....I would suggest a week though , you do need time to recover...
I was sent home way too quickly - after just a few hours. I wish I would have stayed overnight. I went back to work after 5 days, but again it was too soon for me. Two weeks would have been perfect. If you can spare the time, I would go with it. Others are surgery superstars and can go back quicker but It was my first surgery and I was a BABY. :) I am SO excited for you!
My surgery was outpatient, and I loved that. Surgery was atabout 11:30am and I was home in my own bed by 3:30pm, and I was happy about that. I felt like my old self by 9 days post op. Good luck!!
I stay in the hospital for two nights after surgery. I went back to work on day 5 like Andrew. I felt fine, but if you can, take more time for yourself.
I had to stay overnight in the Hospital because of my Central Sleep Apnea, glad I did. I felt fine by day 9. I am retired due to Medical issues so I didn't have to physically go to a job, but I was feeling really well by 14 days.
So well in fact, that I over did it, putting up Christmas decorations and I hurt my Port, which hurt like hell for another 2 weeks!! So, you will do fine, just don't over do it!!
My surgery is outpatient and my doc says back to work in a week, if their are no complications. Makes me nervous that he talks about complications out front - there better not be any complications!
Im a 35 year old mother, wife and friend. I work 40 hours a week at a job and then another full time job at home :) I did the Atkins diet and was successfull at losing 100 lbs. I still needed to lose about 50 more and it just stopped working (or i gave up) So here i am. Feel free to ask any questions
